Established in 2010, the Dr. John L. Maffeo Memorial Fund was designed to provide financial support to CVHN members for projects outside of typical operational programs and services. The Dr. John L. Maffeo Memorial Fund is in remembrance of John L. Maffeo, M.D., whose entire career was dedicated to serving patients most in need of health care through his work as a physician, health center CEO and Past President of the CVHN Board of Directors.
This grant program was established in 2010 through memorial gifts honoring Dr. Maffeo. It was his clear intention to establish this fund to allow clinics the opportunity to apply for monies that could be used for expenses not normally covered under other funding sources. The example he gave was a health center’s homeless program to purchase coats and gloves for their patients in the winter.
