CVHN Internship

Central Valley Health Network offers an internship position for site specific service throughout the greater Central Valley. This is a paid internship, and working hours are 20 hours per week for a six-month time span. The goal of this internship is to prepare young professionals for careers in health care or to gain vital experience in preparation for professional or medical school. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting site supervisors with a variety of public health initiatives. Interns will be in charge of the development and implementation of education on health center programs and services. Interns will plan and attend community health fairs and community events. They will support the development of an emergency preparedness plan for the health center location. Interns will also support quality improvement initiatives at the health center.

 

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of education on health center programs and services
  • Plan and attendance of community health fairs and community events
  • Development of educational material
  • Support the development of emergency preparedness plans
  • Creation and execution of specialty informational classes for health center members
  • Quality improvement initiatives at the health center

 

Qualifications:

  • Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their undergraduate studies or Master’s degree. Candidates should be seeing a bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Administration, Human Development or related field.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated cultural competency
  • Demonstrated written and analytical ability
  • Ability to effectively manage your time and commit to required schedule
  • Understanding of health care principles and implementation of health education programs
  • Reliable transportation to and from the internship environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
